The challenge
Ocean AA Trucking moves intermodal and drayage freight out of the Montréal area. Like every drayage carrier, they live by dates: the vessel ETA, the last free day (LFD) and the earliest return date. When one of those slipped past the team, the cost was immediate.
Before LoadPilot, missed port ETAs and LFDs meant Ocean AA kept paying storage fees on containers that could have been moved in time. Tracking those dates by hand took a big dispatch team, five dispatchers, and it still left gaps.
